Formal Relationships need to include Cohort

There seems to be an over-emphasis on top-down relationships (mentored/was mentored by), and in my experiences at both University of Alaska, Anchorage and Purdue, cohort relationships are extremely important to one's development in both research and teaching. However, there's no space for lateral mentoring relationships. I'd strongly encourage adding a cohort relationship. As it stands it only fits under the "other formal relationships."

In fact, as a group of 10 graduate students we were very attune to this need, and the "worked alongside" was our answer to this request. You should be able to link your peers at every level through this relationship type. For example, take a look at Sondra Perl's tree (Browse the Tree, list all, then click her name) and you can see how many multicolored links she has parallel to her icon. Hover over the colored line to see the relationship type. I hope this helps!
