Institutions that are not academic

In several cases, faculty and graduate students have formed companies (both for-profit and non-profit) that are important to our fields of writing studies -- do you think it would be ok to include those organizations under the category of "institution," which is already in the project, or do you think a new category is necessary/good/called-for?

We did consider this possibility, and came to the conclusion that these projects/companies/initiatives could in fact be added as institutions. If you, or anyone using the site, sees the need for a specific new type we would be more than happy to reconsider.
