I consider my most important connection to be with the world-wide community of educators associated with the late Caleb Gattegno (1911-89), creator of the "Subordination of Teaching to Learning" approach, of which the "Silent Way" of teaching foreign languages, the "Words in Color" pedagogy for literacy in native languages, and "Gattegno Mathematics" are the best known.
